Project Description
Title: Split Language
Medium: Ink on canvas
Split Language explores the duality of expression and silence through a fragmented portrait of the human neck and face. Flowing linework divides the canvas like a map of tension—one side composed of sharp, leaf-like planes, the other of tangled, woodgrain-like textures. A single mouth rests at the center, closed, suspended between two modes of being. The symmetry is deliberate, but uneasy—inviting viewers to consider the layered nature of communication: what’s spoken, what’s withheld, and what lives in the spaces between. This piece is less a portrait and more a conversation—one that speaks without saying a word.
